Primair bij niet acuut zieke patiënt geen antibiotica, streef naar afname diepe kweken
Indien sprake van spondylodiscitis zie advies spondylodiscitis - onbekend micro-organisme
Bij chronische osteomyelitis zie advies bij osteomyelitis, chronisch
Switch eventueel naar oraal, zie ook iv/orale switch UMCU (swabid.nl)
De totale behandelduur van osteomyelitis bij volwassenen is in principe 6 weken
