Paromomycine is in Nederland niet geregistreerd maar is een zogeheten "ZFW-middel". Een artsenverklaring kan nodig zijn.
Slechts behandelen wanneer er sprake is van diarree sinds 1 week of langer, veroorzaakt door mono-infectie met D. fragilis.
