General comments
Therapie en therapieduur altijd in overleg met arts-microbioloog en/of internist-infectioloog.
Bij immuungecompromitteerde status (o.a. HIV-infectie) wordt behandeling gevolgd door secundaire profylaxe.
Bij gebruik van flucytosine moeten spiegelbepalingen worden verricht. Tevens uitsluiten dihydropyrimidine-dehydrogenase (DPD)-deficiëntie voorafgaand of kort na starten flucytosine d.m.v. genotypering.
